Ashleigh Buhai will have some work to do in the second round of the ANA Inspiration in California on Friday after her disappointing opening round of three-over-par 75.

The lone South African in the tournament made five birdies on the demanding Rancho Mirage layout, but four bogeys and two doubles left her one shot below the projected cutline in what should have been the first major championship of the year.

The tournament is being led by Nelly Korda of the United States, who fired a six-under 66 for a one-stroke edge over Korea’s In Gee Chun and Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom.

The second round will be carried live on DSTV channel 213 at 6pm.
