Dylan Frittelli matched the third-best round of the day on Thursday with his eight-under-par 64 enough to move him into a share of 13th place after the second round of the Shriners Hospital for Children Open on the PGA Tour in Las Vegas.

Frittelli made an eagle, six birdies and a bogey in a round that ended up delivering the lowest cut in PGA Tour history at seven-under-par. He found himself at 11-under for the tournament, three strokes behind the leaders Martin Laird of Scotland, and Americans Patrick Cantlay, Brian Harman, Austin Cook and Peter Malnati. First-round leader Bryson DeChambeau carded a four-under 67 to fins himself one shot off the lead at the halfway mark.

Louis Oosthuizen fired a three-under 68 to move to nine-under, but Charl Schwartzel’s second round of level-par left him at four-under and meant he missed the weekend action. MJ Daffue carded his second successive one-under 70 to miss the cut by five strokes.

The round of the day came from Malnati who made seven birdies and an eagle in a blemish-free round as the players made hay on a course that is set up for low scoring.
