Louis Oosthuizen finished the better of the two South Africans in the field on Sunday in the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, Nevada as his closing two-under-par 70 saw him finish in a share of 48th.

The tournament was a debut PGA Tour triumph for Jason Kokrak who fought off the efforts of Xander Schauffele. Kokrak closed with an eight-under 64 to reach 20-under for the tournament and best Schauffele’s efforts by two strokes after the pair were locked together for the lead after 54 holes.

Tyrell Hatton, who had won so well at the BMW PGA Championship on the European Tour just a week earlier, also finished strongly to take a share of third with Russell Henley of the United States at 17-under-par.

Oosthuizen had a quiet week, with rounds of 70-73-74-70. In the 78-man no-cut event, Dylan Frittelli signed for a final round of three-over 75 to finish on seven-over for the tournament in a share of 69th.
