While the scores didn’t exactly matter – the top 16 and ties will do it all again on Sunday starting from level-par – Louis de Jager put himself right in the mix on Saturday with a fine five-under-par 66 in the third round of the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown at Aphrodite Hills Resort in Paphos, Cyprus.
He made an eagle, four birdies and a bogey as 32 players who advanced from the cut to the top 32 at the halfway stage battled to make it into the top 16 to have one more shot at grabbing the top spot at the end of the fourth round.
The best rounds of the day came from Matthew Jordan of England and Johannes Veerman of the United States who each carded seven-under 64, Veerman for the second day in a row. There were 65s from Jamie Donaldson of Wales and Bernd Ritthammer of Germany and then De Jager and six other players came home in 66.
De Jager will be off at 10.12am (Cyprus time is the same as SA time right now), and you can follow the action on SuperSport channel 213 from 2.30pm.
