Dylan Frittelli did moving day right. He went bogey-free on Saturday in the Masters at Augusta National to slip into a share of fifth at 11-under-par after he carded a superb five-under-par 67 on a day when the greens were finally starting to show their teeth.

After a tough second round of one-over 73, Frittelli came back to get himself into contention with a flawless round, although he did find himself five shots off the unrelenting pace set by world number one Dustin Johnson who was ice-cool on his way to a seven-under-par 65.

Frittelli got it going early with a birdie on the second, and another at the eighth as he turned in two-under. He made three more birdies on his way home, on 11, 13 and 15, and with Sungjae Im of Korea, Mexico’s Abraham Ancer and Australian Cameron Smith in a share of second on 12-under ahead of him, he will have plenty of company as he searches for the key to going low in the final round on Sunday.

Behind him, Louis Oosthuizen seemed uncomfortable throughout the third round after playing his way to an admirable 70 in the second, and he slipped to a three-over 75 with a double-bogey and four bogeys on his card. He finished the third round on three-under, together with 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, who put things together with a three-under 69. Christiaan Bezuidenhout signed for a two-over 74 to be level-par for the tournament.
