Ashleigh Buhai carded her second successive two-under-par 70 on Friday to settle into a share of sixth at the halfway mark of the LPGA Drive On Championship being played at Golden Ocala in Ocala, Florida.
She made three birdies and a bogey, just as she did in her first round, and found herself six off the pace being set by Americans Austin Ernst and Jennifer Kupcho who were at 10-under after they both signed for their second successive scores of five-under 67.
Buhai started her round on the 10th, and immediately dropped a shot on that par-five. She held things together throughout her opening nine with pars until the turn, and then she picked up birdies on one, five and eight.
So, for the second week in a row, she heads into the weekend inside the top 10 and two good rounds from being in contention going down the stretch on Sunday.
A day after playing most of the back nine with a migraine that blurs her vision, Kupcho had six birdies and a bogey. Ernst had a bogey-free round.
