Paula Reto closed with a two-over-par 73 on Saturday to finish in fourth place on the Symetra Tour’s Copper Rock Championship in Hurricane, Utah.
She finished on two-under-par for the tournament, eight shots behind the winner Bailey Tardy of the United States. Tardy had a three-stroke edge over compatriot Samantha Wagner and Canada’s Maude-Aimee Leblanc.
Reto made two bogeys and a birdie in her final round in the 54-hole tournament, as she found it touch to find fairways off the tee, and then greens in regulation.
It was Tardy’s maiden professional title. “I am super excited; this has been three years coming. Last year I came so close and to finally come out on top means a lot,” she said.
In Los Angeles, Ashleigh Buhai, carded a final-round one-over 72 to finish in a share of 23rd in the LPGA Tour’s Hugel-Air Premia LA Open.
She was four-over for the tournament, 12 shots behind the winner, Canada’s Brooke Henderson, who swept past Jessica Korda who led throughout the opening three rounds. Henderson carded a four-under 67, while Korda slipped to a one-over 72.
