Louis Oosthuizen moved up the leaderboard on Saturday with a third round of five-under-par 66 in the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship at the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida.
Oosthuizen made six birdies and a bogey to move to seven-under for the tournament. That puts him in a share of 12th, seven shots off the lead held by Keegan Bradley and Sam Burns of the United States. They have a ones-troke lead over Max Homa, who, like Oosthuizen, carded a 66 in the third round.
Oosthuizen’s bogey came on the par-five fifth, as his tee shot found a fairway bunker, and he was only able to advance the ball a couple of yards out of it into the rough. He made the green in four, and missed a 22-footer for par.
His playing partner from their runner-up finish in last week’s Zurich Classic, Charl Schwartzel, was unable to capitalise on his own good second round, making five bogeys and two birdies in the third round for a three-over 74. That dropped him to three-under for the tournament, in a share of 28th.
Branden Grace also battled in the third round, signing for a four-over 75, and he is in a share of 56th going into the final round.
