Oliver Bekker closed off his campaign on the Challenge Tour’s Range Servant Challenge at Hinton Golf Club, Malmö, Sweden, on Sunday with a three-under-par 69 to climb into a share of 15th.
He made six birdies and three bogeys to end the week on a total of nine-under-par, 13 shots behind the runaway winner, Craig Howie of Scotland. Howie threated a few times during the three-tournament South African swing of the Challenge Tour, and he put it all together in Sweden with rounds of 65-66-69-66, His 22-under-par trumped Marcus Helligkilde of Denmark by a gaping seven-stroke margin.
Jacques Blaauw closed with a one-under 71 to finish on five-under for the tournament in a share of 38th, while Wilco Nienaber slipped to a five-over 77 in the final round, finished one-under for the tournament in 57th. Martin Rohwer and Bruce Easton missed the cut.
In Japan, Shaun Norris closed out the Asia Pacific Diamond Cup in a share of 13th after having a share pf the 36-hole lead. His closing rounds of 75-72 had him at five-under for the tournament, eight shots behind the winner Rikuya Hoshino of Japan, who had a four-stroke margin over Juvic Pagunsan of the Philippines.
Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe closed with a one-under 71 to finish one-over for the tournament in 40th, while Jbe’ Kruger missed the cut.
