Branden Grace followed up his fine opening round with a level-par 72 on Friday as the second round of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide on the PGA Tour was not completed because of darkness.
Grace opened with a four-under 68 after the weather-hit first round was completed on Friday, and then he made two birdies and two bogeys to remain at four-over for the tournament – in a share of eighth place, four off the lead with many players still to complete their second rounds. Patrick Cantlay of the United States leads at eight-under, with John Rahm also on eight-under, but with five holes still to play.
Charl Schwartzel also completed his second round on level-par 72, moving him to two-under for the tournament. Louis Oosthuizen carded a second-round 71 to go to one-under for the tournament, while the man who had such a good first round, Christiaan Bezuidenhout was struggling at three-over through 16. He had slipped to level-par for the tournament.
Dylan Frittelli looked set to miss the cut at five-over after his opening 74 was followed by three-over through 14 in the second round. With the cut projected at two-over, he will need to score well in his final four holes.
