Paula Reto made the cut on Friday in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at the Highlands Course at Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia when she carded a level-par 72 to go into the weekend at two-over-par 146 in a share of 57th.
She made three birdies and three bogeys, and will start the weekend 13 shots behind the leader Nelly Korda of the United States, who carded a nine-under 63 to hold a one-shot advantage over first round leader Lizette Salas.
South Africa’s top woman golfer, Ashleigh Buhai, made a second-round four-over to go with her opening five-over and missed the cut.
Korda closed a tournament record-tying 63 with six consecutive birdies and seven over the last eight holes. “I just blacked out out there,” Korda said when asked about her torrid sprint to the finish line on Friday. “Actually, the one on 17, No. 8, was the highlight of my round,” she said about her birdie run.
