Jbe’ Kruger closed with a two-under-par 70 on Sunday in the final round of the Japan Golf Tour’s Dunlop Srixon Fukushima Open at the Grandee Nasushirakawa Golf Club in Nishigō, Fukushima to finish in a share of 46th.
Kruger made two birdies in his opening nine, and he finished the tournament on a total of 11-under-par, 14 strokes behind the winner Ryosuke Kinoshita, who defeated Ryoko Tokimatsu in a sudden-death play-off. Kinoshita came storming through to force the play-off with his closing 10-under 62.
The result moved Kruger to 114th on the money list. He has won a total of R173,406 in eight tournaments on the circuit. Shaun Norris is the leading South African in Japan, currently lying in 33rd with a victory to his credit after taking the inaugural Golf Partner Pro-Am in a three-way play-off. He is in action on the European Tour this week.
Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe is in 36th on the list. He did not play this week.
