Lee-Anne Pace closed with a three-under-par 69 on Saturday to finish in a share of 11th place in the Ladies European Tour’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open at Golf Club Beroun in the Czech Republic.
The South African Women’s Open champion finished the 54-hole event on 11-under-par, four shots behind the winner Atthiya Thitikul of Thailand. Thitikul won by one from Nuria Iturrioz of Spain, with Leonie Harm of Germany a further shot back.
Pace had three birdies and two bogeys in her opening nine in the final round, and, when she picked up two shots in succession on the 10th and 11th, it looked as if she might be able to conjure up a charge for the lead. She wasn’t able to pick up any more strokes on her way in, however, but she did keep any more bogeys off the card.
Nicole Garcia fought her way to a closing round of one-over-par 73 to finish in a share of 24th on six-under for the tournament. She had two birdies and a bogey on her front nine, and a double-bogey six on the 13th threw her chase for a better finish off track. She limited the damage, coming home with pars for the remaining five holes.
