Garrick Higgo had completed his first round when play was suspended on Thursday in the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, Michigan, and he had posted a four-under-par 68 to be in a share of 20th.

It was a bogey-free round for Higgo, and he was five shots off the lead held by Davis Thompson of the United States. Thompson had a two-stroke lead over countryman Brandon Hagy, England’s Tom Lewis and Joaquin Niemann of Chile.

Higgo started his round on the 10th, and picked up consecutive birdies on the 13th and 14th to turn in two-under. He made two more gains on the first and the seventh. He relied on his accuracy to the green, hitting 78 percent of the greens in regulation. He had just 28 putts in his round.

Dylan Frittelli also had completed his round, posting a three-under-par 69 for a share of 36th.
