Jacques Blaauw played his way into contention on Saturday in the Challenge Tour’s Kaskáda Golf Challenge at Kaskáda Golf Resort in Brno, Czech Republic, when he carded a third round of five-under-par 66 to move into a share of 13th.

He made six birdies and a bogey as he climbed the leaderboard to be four shots off the lead held by five players – Marcel Schneider of Germany, Kristian Krogh Johannesen of Norway, Dane Nicolai Kristensen, Italian Lorenzo Scalise and Scot Bradley Neil. They had a one-stroke lead over Josh Geary of New Zealand and Dimitrios Papadotos of Australia.

Blaauw turned it on during the front nine, making birdies on three, four, six and nine without dropping a shot. His solitary bogey came after the turn when he dropped a shot on the par-four 13th, but he made up for that with birdies on 14 and 15.

Jacques Kruyswijk is the next best of the South Africans in the field. He’s on five-under for the tournament after a three-under 68 in the third round. JC Ritchie is a shot further back on four-under after a one-under on Saturday.
