Justin Harding carded a third-round of five-under-par 66 on Saturday to keep in touch – just – with the lead heading into the final round of the European Tour’s Cazoo Open supported by Gareth Bale at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales.
Harding’s round included an eagle two on the par-four 15th and three birdies as he was part of a chasing pack of four players who go into Sunday’s play six strokes behind the leader, Nacho Elvira of Spain. Elvira also signed for a 65, but he has been the man to catch since his opening 64 was followed up by a 67.
With Harding on 10-under are England’s Callum Shinkwin, who had the round of the day with his 63, American Chase Hanna and Miko Korhonen of Finland. Sam Horsfield of England is in sixth on nine-under.
Jacques Kruyswijk kept his hopes of a strong finish alive with a battling round of one-under-par 70, with four birdies and three bogeys to have him in ninth place. One shot further back was Bryce Easton, who atoned for a poor second round of four-over-par 75 with a third round of seven-under 64 to take up a share of 10th.
