Charl Schwartzel added a second round of three-under-par 68 to his total on Friday in the second round of the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota to move to seven-under-par at the hallway mark.

The 2011 Masters champion started his round on the 10th and immediately picked up a birdie. He made two more on 12 and 15, and then he made pars all the way home. After his opening 67, he was three shots off the lead shared by Canada’s Adam Hadwin and American Ryan Armour.

One shot behind Schwartzel was Louis Oosthuizen, less than a week from his deflating defeat in the Open Championship. He also carded a second-round 68, and was in a share of 196h after making five birdies and two bogeys.

Erik van Rooyen signed for a one-over 72 in the second round, and he made the cut on two-under-par, as did MJ Daffue. Brandon Stone and Dylan Frittelli both missed the cut.
