Martin Rohwer got it to red figures on Thursday in the third round of the Challenge Tour’s Sydbank Esbjerg Challenge at Esbjerg Golfklub in Esbjerg, Denmark as he carded a two-under-par 69 to move into a share of 22nd.
After opening rounds of level-par 71 and one-over 72, Rohwer made four birdies and two bogeys to put himself eight shots off the lead which was held by Scotland’s Ewen Ferguson after his third round of six-under 65. Ferguson led by one from Frenchman Julien Brun, and by two from Angel Hidalgo and Espen Kofstad.
Hennie du Plessis also signed for a two-under 69 to move to level-par for the tournament and a share of 28th, one behind Rohwer.
The other South African in the field who made the cut was Merrick Bremner, who went two-over 73 in his third round. He was five-over for the tournament, and in a share of 59th.
Ruan Conradie missed the cut.
