Norris finishes Sega Sammy Cup in share of 17th

Shaun Norris closed out his tournament on the Japan Golf Tour on Sunday in the final round of the Sega Sammy Cup with a one-under-par 71 to take a share of 17th.

He made four birdies and three bogeys as he finished on nine-under-par for the tournament, 11 shots behind the winner Kazuki Higa, who carded a come-from-behind four-under-par 68 to overtake the 54-hole leader Kunihiro Kamii to win by two.

Norris had a tough start, with a bogey on the second and another on the eighth, but he made a birdie on the par-five ninth. But he started his homeward nine with a dropped shot on the 10th. He rallied from that with three birdies going in, on 12, 17 and 18.

He shared 17th with Zimbabwean Scott Vincent, who also signed for a closing one-under-par 71. He made three birdies and two bogeys in his final round.
