Casandra Hall opened the Ladies European Tour’s Creekhouse Ladies Open at Kristianstad Golf Club in Åhus, Sweden on Thursday with a three-under-par 69 to take up a share of fourth after the first round.

She made seven birdies, two bogeys and a double-bogey to be three sots behind the leader Chloe Williams of Wales, who carded a six-under-par 66 to have a two-shot lead over Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand and Australia’s Stephanie Kyriacou who were both on four-under 68.

Hall started her round on the 10th, and immediately made birdie. She made her double on the second-shortest par-four on the course, the 322-yard 15th, but she picked those shots up immediately with consecutive birdies on 16 and 17, and she turned in one-under 35. Shem made bogeys on the par-five first and the par-three third, but four birdies on her closing five holes gave her a strong finish and some momentum to take into the second round.

Swaziland’s Nobuhle Dlamini signed for a two-over 74 and a share of 42nd, while Nicole Garcia and Lejan Lewthwaite were on five-over 77 in 78th. Stacy Bregman carded six-over 78.
