A second four-under-par 68 in a row on Friday took Oliver Bekker into a share of seventh after the second round of the Challenge Tour’s British Challenge Presented by Modest! Golf Management at the Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, England.
Having gone bogey-free through his first round, Bekker was well on his way to doing the same in his second round, making six birdies after 17 holes. But a double-bogey six on the final hole saw him finish 36 holes at eight-under, five off the pace set by Todd Clements of England and Chile’s Hugo Leon.
JC Ritchie also had a second round of four-under 68 as he moved to four-under for the tournament in a share of 38th place, nine shots off the lead. Hennie du Plessis signed for a level-par 72 and was in a share of 50th at three-under, while Jacques Blaauw’s two-under 70 was not enough to prevent him missing the cut.
