Nicole Garcia was one of two South Africans (and a Swazi) to make the cut on Friday in the second round of the Ladies European Tour’s Lacoste Ladies Open de France at Golf Club de Medoc.

She carded a second-round level-par 71 to move to two-over for the tournament, and a share of 47th. It was a position she shared with Casandra Hall, who carded a two-over 73 in her second round. Swaziland’s Nobuhle Dlamini had a one-under 70 to make the cut on the number at three-over in a share of 57th as 66 players will play Saturday’s final round.

Garcia kept herself in the fray with three birdies and three bogeys as the tournament lead was taken by local favourite Celine Boutier, who added a second-round 66 to her opening 68. She led by one from Kylie Henry, Magdalena Simmermacher and Virginia Elena Carta.

Hall had a great start to her second round with consecutive birdies on the first three holes, but bogeys on six and seven saw her turn in one-under. She had a double-bogey on the par-three 12th, and another bogey on the 16th, but she will play the final round.

Dlamini, on the other hand, started with two bogeys. She picked up three birdies ahead of the turn to reach it in one-under and then made a bogey and a birdie on the homeward nine.
