Norris finishes 5th in Japan Golf Tour’s Bridgestone Open

Shaun Norris closed with a six-under-par 65 on Sunday to finish the Japan Golf Tour’s Bridgestone Open in fifth place on 14-under for the tournament.

It was a bogey-free closing round for the big South African as he made three birdies on each nine to finish five places behind the winner, Tomoyasu Sugiyama of Japan. Sugiyama finished with a five-under 66 for a three-stroke win over Jinichiro Kozuma.

Norris took home over R580,000 in prize money for his performance, and climbed to 21st on the Japan Golf Tour’s money list for the season.

Behind Norris, in yet another good finish, Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent finished his week’s work with a superb seven-under 64 which took him to 12-under for the week and a share of seventh place. He also moved to seventh on the money list.

Jbe’ Kruger closed with a two-over 73 to be one-under for the week in a share of 51st.
