Branden Grace closed with a level-par 70 on Sunday to finish in a share of seventh in the ZOZO Championship at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Chiba, Japan.
Grace made three birdies and three bogeys to stay at five-under for the tournament, and he was 10 shots off the pace set by winner Hideki Matsuyama, who thrilled the local fans with a closing five-under 65 giving him a comfortable five-stroke win over Americans Brendan Steele and Cameron Tringale.
Shaun Norris was the next-best of the South Africans. He too had a closing level-par 70, finishing in a share of 39th in the 78-man field on two-over for the tournament. After two solid opening rounds, Erik van Rooyen had a pair of three-over 73s to close, leaving him four-over for the tournament and in a share of 48th. Garrick Higgo signed off with a four-over 74 and was 14-over in 75th. Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent finished nine-over for the week in 66th.
