Ahlers hanging on ahead of final round in South Korea

Jaco Ahlers held on tightly on Saturday in the third round of the Asian Tour’s 41st GS Caltex Maekyung Open at Namseoul Country Club in Seongnam, South Korea when he carded a level-par 71 to be nine shots off the lead going into the final round.

Ahlers made a double bogey on the first, but he held things together with four birdies and two bogeys to be in a share of 23rd. In the lead at 10-under was Korea’s Bio Kim, who was four shots clear of countrymen Minjun Kim, Mingyu Cho and Jiho Yang.

One shot behind Ahlers was Neil Schietekat, who shot a two-over-par 73 in the third round. He was on level-par for the tournament on a share of 28th.

Mathiam Keyser signed for a three-over 74 to move to six-over for the tournament in a share of 59th.
