Jaco Ahlers signed for a level-par 71 in the final round of the Asian Tour’s 41st GS Caltex Maekyung Open at Namseoul Country Club in Seongnam, South Korea to finish the tournament at one-under-par in a share of 16th.
It was a day on which the eventual winner, Bio Kim of South Korea, was also unable to get any scoring going as he carded a one-over 72 to hold on for a two-shot victory over countryman Mingyu Cho. Another Korean, Kyongjun Moon, was third on six-under for the tournament.
Ahlers made two birdies and two bogeys in his final round, and he shared 16th with two other players.
Neil Schietekat carded a one-over 72 in his final round, and, at one-over for the tournament, was in a share of 26th. Mathiam Keyser carded a level-par 71 to close, and he was in a share of 43rd on six-over.
Ahlers has climbed to 27th on the Asian Tour Order of Merit after playing in three tournaments. Ian Snyman, who missed the cut this week, remains in eighth place on that list after five tournaments.
