Zander Lombard had a bogey-free three-under-par on Friday in the second round of the DP World Tour’s and Ladies European Tour’s Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed in Sweden to be in a share of 18th at the halfway mark.
In the tournament that features 78 pros from the DP World Tour and 78 from the Ladies European Tour all competing on the same course for the same prize fund, Lombard made all three of his birdies on the back nine, and, at six-under for the tournament, he was six shots off the pace set by Australia’s Jason Scrivener. Scrivener had an eight-under 64 in the second round to move two clear of France’s Mike Lorenzo-Vera, with Italian woman’s amateur Carolina Melgrati and Sweden’s Linn Grant the leading women also on 10-under in a share of second.
There were 27 women who made the cut, including South Africa’s Casandra Alexander in 24th on four-under, one back of Lombard. Stacy Bregman was on three-under in a share of 45th.
South African men who made the cut included Justin Walters and Jacques Kruyswijk on five-over, in a share of 24th with Alexander. Darren Fichardt was on three-under with Bregman.
Thriston Lawrence, Richard Sterne, Nicole Garcia and Swaziland’s Nobuhle Dlamini missed the cut. Lee-Anne Pace withdrew from the second round.
