Nicole Garcia opened the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series LDN at Centurion Club in Hertfordshire, England, with a three-under-par 70 on Thursday to be in a share of 14th place after the first round.
Garcia went through the front nine in level-par 37 without making a birdie or dropping a shot, but she made three birdies on the trot from the 10th hole. She bogeyed 15 and birdied 18 to be four shots off the lead which was held by Sweden’s Sofie Bringner. Bringner bookended her round with eagles on one and 18, and led by one from Georgia Hall of England and fellow-Swede Jenny Haglund. Bringner threw in a third eagle on the sixth for good measure.
Stacy Bregman started the 54-hole tournament with a one-over-par 74 for a share of 35th, Casandra Alexander had a six-over 79 and Lejan Lewthwaite battled to a 10-over 83 on the course that hosted the inaugural LIV Golf event last week.
