He made double-bogey six on the first play-off hole to lose out on Sunday, but MJ Daffue still matched his best finish of the season on the Korn Ferry Tour with a share of second in the Albertson’s Boise Open.
Daffue, who has already earned his PGA Tour card by finishing inside the top 25 in the regular season rankings, is playing the three-tournament Korn Ferry Tour Finals series to improve his ranking ahead of the 2022-23 PGA Tour season.
He carded a six-under-par 65 in the closing round to get himself into the play-off with the eventual winner Will Gordon and the man who had led for the first three rounds, Philip Knowles. With six birdies, it was just a bogey on 18 which stopped Daffue from pulling one clear for the outright victory, one which would have been his first on the Korn Ferry Tour.
His performance has boosted him to third on the Korn Ferry Tour’s Regular Season Eligibility list. With the 25 from the regular season, 25 players from the Finals Eligibility list will alternate on the PGA Tour Priority Ranking to get into tournaments next season.
