Garrick Higgo stayed within three shots of the lead on Saturday with a four-under-par 68 in the third round of the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi.
Higgo will start the final round in a share of third place, three behind leader Mark Hubbard of the United States, who had a seven-under 65 in the third round. MacKenzie Hughes of Canada was in second place on 14-under, two ahead of Higgo.
Higgo had to shake off the effects of a double-bogey six on the 12th, where his approach landed in the right rough around the green. He was eventually able to get on the green for four, and he two-putted. Prior to that, he made three birdies on the front nine without dropping a shot, and after the 12th, he made three more on the 14th, 15th and 18th.
Dean Burmester also had a second-round four-under-par 68 to climb inside the top 10. He was in a share of eighth on 10-under, after making five birdies and a bogey.
Dylan Frittelli had six birdies and two bogeys in his 68 to climb 16 places on the leaderboard into a share of 15th at eight-under. Also on eight-under was Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who had a third-round three-under 69. MJ Daffue carded his third successive two-under 70, and, at six-under for the tournament, was in a share of 34th.
