Amateur Yurav Premlall carded a seven-under-par 65 on Tuesday to pull one clear after 36 holes in the second round of the Bushveld Tour’s Race to Q-School College Sports America Series #2 at the Els Club Copperleaf.
He moved to 12-under-par ahead of the final round, one clear of one of the players with whom he shared the first-round lead, Luke Jerling. Jerling had a six-under 66 in the second round, and he shared second with Kyle Mclachlan, who won the first event on the series last week.
Premlall made eight birdies in his round, dropping a shot early in his round on the second hole. He made gains on the fourth and fifth, and seventh and eighth on his way out, and then picked up strokes on the 11th, 14th, 15th and 18th on the homeward nine.
Bradley Bawden was in fourth place on seven-under, with Arno Pretorius, CJ Levy, Delano Kotze and England’s Harry Konig in a share of fifth on six-under.
