Ashleigh Buhai finished in a share of 10th on Sunday in the LPGA Tour’s Honda LPGA Thailand at Siam Country Club after a closing round of two-under-par 70.

Three birdies and a bogey took her to 15-under for the tournament which was won at 22-under-par by American Lilia Vu. Vu closed with an eight-under 64 to overtake third-round leader Natthakritta Vongtaveelap of Thailand, who had a one-under in the final round to lose out by just one stroke.

Buhai dropped her single shot on the 16th, and, had she not done that, shoe could have finished in a share of sixth together with world number one Lydia Ko, America’s Nelly Korda and Ireland’s Leoan Maguire. As it was, she shared sixth with a fellow AIG Women’s Open champion in Anna Nordqvist from Sweden, as well as Jodi Ewart Shadoff of the United States, England’s Georgia Hall and Hyo Joo Kim of South Korea.

The other South African in the field, Paula Reto, closed with a one-under-par 71 to move to seven-under for the tournament and a share of 44th.
