Casandra Alexander overcame a triple-bogey on the 16th hole on Saturday as she battled her way to a three-over-par 75 in the second round of the Ladies European Tour’s Aramco Team Series-Florida at Trump International in West Palm Beach.
It was another incomplete round for many in the field as they struggled to overcome a delay in the first round, and Alexander made three birdies and three bogeys in addition to the triple-bogey as she moved to one-over for the tournament and a share of 11th.
In front, and through 14 holes, was Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz, who led by one from Louise Duncan of Scotland who was on four-under and through 15 holes. Sharing the lead in the clubhouse were Carlota Ciganda of Spain and Clara Davidson Spilkova on three-under.
Lee-Anne Pace had a second round of one-over-par 73 to move to four-over and a share of 20th, while Nicole Garcia was six-over through 16 and at eight-over for the tournament, one ahead of the projected cut in a share of 50th.
