Paula Reto was able to resist for a while on Friday in her third match in the LPGA Tour’s Bank of Hope LPGA Match-Play at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nevada, but she eventually went down 5&3 to Celine Boutier of France.

That eliminated Reto from the tournament ahead of the knockout stages, with her record of one win, one tie and the loss against Boutier.

The French world number 11 started fast with birdies on two and three taking her two-up early on in the match. Reto battled back with a birdie on the fifth to cut the margin to one, but that was to be the last of her resistance. Boutier reeled off birdies on seven, 10 and 12, and then her birdie on 15 ended the match.

Boutier goes up against Angel Yin of the United States in the round of 16.
