There were some low scores up ahead of him on Sunday, but Zander Lombard’s level-par 71 was good enough for a share of 10th in the DP World Tour’s Cazoo Open de France at Le Golf National in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France.
Lombard overcame an opening double-bogey on the first hole, as well as another bogey, with three birdies as he finished on eight-under-par for the tournament. That was six shots off the winning total of 14-under from Japan’s Ryo Hisatsune, who closed with a five-under-par 66. That held off Jordan Smith of England and Jeff Winther of Denmark by two shots as Jordan finished with a one-over 72 and Winther with a six-under 65.
Bryce Easton rounded out a good week with a share of 20th on five-under-par after a closing level-par 71. Louis de Jager finished with a two-under-par 69 for a share of 35th on three-under-par together with Thriston Lawrence who had a one-under 70 to finish up.
Hennie du Plessis struggled to a three-over-par 74 to slip to one-over and a share of 51st.
