Pieter Moolman played himself into a strong position to win his DP World Tour card on Monday when he carded a fourth-round seven-under-par 64 in the DP World Tour’s Final Stage Qualifying School at Infinitum Golf (Lakes and Hills Courses) in Tarragona, Spain.

Playing on the Lakes Course ahead of the 72-hole cut and the final sprint for the top 25 places which will guarantee playing privileges in 2024, Moolman, a two-time winner on the Sunshine Tour, made two birdies on the front nine, and five on the homeward nine as he moved to a share of fifth on 15-under-par. That was six strokes behind the leading player, Filippo Celli of Italy, who was on 21-under after a fourth round of five-under-par 66.

Jacques Kruyswijk also put himself in a good spot to regain his card, with a five-under-par 66 taking him into a share of 20th on 11-under.

Deon Germishuys and Darren Fichardt were in a share of 31st and 41st respectively on nine-under and eight-under. Both will need a strong finish to the difficult six-round challenge if they are to win their cards. Thomas Aiken and JJ Senekal were further back in a share of 61st on five-under, having made the cut on the number.

Two former Cape Town Open champions, Benjamin Follett-Smith and Rhys Enoch, both made the cut and are in good shape to push for their cards. The Zimbabwean Follett-Smith was on 13-under in a share of 12th, and Enoch of Wales was in a share of 23rd on 10-under-par.
