A bogey-free four-under-par 68 on Thursday gave Ashleigh Buhai a share of 13th place after the first round of the LPGA Tour’s CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
Buhai was in a nine-way share of 13th, five strokes behind the pace which was set by Japan’s Nasa Hataoka and China’s Ruoning Yin. Both leaders were also bogey-free for their nine-under-par 63s. They led by one from Minjee Lee of Australia, with Anna Nordqvist of Sweden in fourth on seven-under-par. There were five players on six-under, and three on five-under.
The tournament is the season-ender for the LPGA Tour, and is being played by the top 60 players of the year. Buhai is ranked 20th, and projected to stay there based on her current position.
