Shaun Norris closed with a two-over-par 73 on Sunday to finish the Japan Golf Tour’s Dunlop Phoenix Tournament in a share of 17th place on two-under-par for the week.
He was 10 strokes behind the winner, Yuta Sugiura of Japan, who was on 12-under to win by three from countrymen Taiga Semikawa and Keita Nakajima.
It was a tough start on the front nine for Norris as he dropped a shot on the first hole. Then there were four bogeys in a row from the fourth, before he was able to staunch the bleeding with his first birdie on the ninth. That turned the momentum, and he didn’t drop another shot on the homeward nine as he made two more birdies.
Norris shared 17th with, amongst others, Scott Vincent of Zimbabwe who closed with a one-over 72.
