Keith Horne missed out on earning his PGA Tour Champions card on Friday when he carded a closing one-under-par 70 to finish the PGA Tour Champions Qualifying Tournament-Final Stage at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona at eight-under-par.
In what must be one of the toughest qualifying schools in world golf – only five players earn the right to play the lucrative circuit next year – the winning total was 20-under-par for Cameron Percy of Australia. Percy led three other Australians into the qualifying spots, with Michael Wright, Steve Allen and David Bransdon joining Shane Bertsch of the United States in going through.
Alan McLean, now playing out of Canada, also missed out when he closed out with a one-over 72 to finish up on nine-under-par in a share of 18th.
