In high winds on Saturday, Casey Jarvis held on to his position in the top 10 with a two-over-par 72 in the third round of the DP World Tour’s Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans Montana, Switzerland.
A sign of how difficult things were was that only three players of the 80 who made the cut broke par, and Jarvis was up into a share of ninth at four-under-par through 54 holes. He goes into the final round seven strokes behind the leader, Matt Wallace of England, who was on 11-under-par after he carded a three-over 73 in the third round.
Wallace still has a four-stroke edge over the player in second place, Alfredo Garcia-Heredia of Spain, with Andrew Johnston of England and Swede Henrik Norlander in a share of third on six-under-par. Jarvis shares ninth with five other players.
There were three South Africans on one-under-par in a share of 21st. They were Jayden Schaper, Darren Fichardt and the 2022 champion of the tournament, Thriston Lawrence. They had rounds of 71, 72 and 74 respectively.
Louis de Jager was on level-par through 54 holes after his third round of four-over 74, and Thomas Aiken and Brandon Stone were on one-over after rounds of 74 and 75 respectively.
