Her closing 69 was not enough to challenge the incredible scoring at the top of the leaderboard on Sunday, but Ashleigh Buhai managed to finish in sixth place in the LPGA Tour’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers, Arkansas.
Buhai made four birdies and two bogeys for a closing two-under-par in the final round, but she was up against a pair of players who shot 61 and 60 to get to 17-under-par in the 54-hole event and then fought it out over two holes in a sudden-death play-off.
Jasmine Suwannapura of Thailand finished her round in regulation play with an eagle on 18 for her bogey-free 10-under 61, and American Lucy Li had an 11-under 60 which included three eagles, seven birdies and two bogeys. Suwannapura pulled off the win with a birdie on the second play-off hole.
Paula Reto closed with a two-over-par 73 to finish in a share of 58th on five-under-par.
