Although she bogeyed her final hole of the Ladies European Tour’s season, Nicole Garcia’s final round of two-under-par 70 on Sunday was enough tp see her finish in a share of 22nd in the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana at Real Club Guadalhorce Golf in Malaga, Spain.
Garcia had dropped shots on the fifth and the 11th as well, but she made five birdies in between all that, and she finished the tournament on six-under-par. In the end, that was enough to see her retain 40th place on the Race to Costa del Sol, the season-ling rankings list.
She finished the tournament 12 strokes behind the winner, Carlota Ciganda, who fired a final round of one-under-par 71 to secure a one-stroke victory. The Spanish star overcame a nervous start on the final day to card rounds of 67-66-66-71 to win her eighth title on the LET. It was a second victory in this tournament for the Solheim Cup star, who first the trophy back in 2021, and also a fourth LET title in Spain.
Belgium’s Manon De Roey put up a great fight on the final day firing a bogey-free round of four-under 68 to finish in outright second place on the leaderboard. India’s Pranavi Urs recorded her best-ever finish on the LET with a solo third place after a final round of 69.
Casandra Alexander closed with a fine five-under-par 67 to climb into a share of 26th, and that saw her finish in 36th place in the Race to Costa del Sol.
Lee-Anne Pace had a four-over 76, and she was in 67th on six-over. She was in 56th on the rankings.
