Garrick Higgo made three birdies in succession on the back nine on Monday as he continued his solid start to life on the Korn Ferry Tour in the season-opening Bahamas Golf Classic at Atlantis Paradise Island.
After he opened with a three-under-par 67 which included just a single bogey, he cruised through the second round without dropping a shot with a five-under-par 65 to move to eight-under-par through 36 holes. Play was suspended for darkness for the second time in the two rounds so far, and the lead was held by John VanDerLaan of the United States at 16-under. Higgo was in a share of 16th with 17 players still to finish their rounds.
Barend Botha had a second round of four-under-par 66 to move to six-under for the tournament and a share of 27th. With him on six-under – although he was still to finish his round – was Christo Lamprecht, who was four-under through 16 holes.
Dawie van der Walt and MJ Daffue will both miss the cut after rounds of 77 and 67 respectively left them on 12-over and two-under.
