Barend Botha rounded out his first tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour with a four-under-par 66 on Wednesday to lift himself into a share of seventh place in the Bahamas Golf Classic at Atlantis Paradise Island at the Ocean Club Golf Course in Paradise Island, Bahamas.

It was a good start to his campaign on the Korn Ferry Tour after he won two tournaments in two weeks in Canada last season to earn his playing rights, as he finished on 13-under-par for the week. That was fives strokes behind the winner, Hank Lebioda of the United States.

Lebioda won on the first hole of a play-off with SH Kim of Korea, after Kim closed with a seven-under 63 to match Lebioda on 18-under-par. The American carded a closing 66, and made a birdie three on the 18th after they went down the closing fairway one more time.

It was a bogey-free closer for Botha, as he picked up one birdie on the front nine, and then made three more on the back nine.

Christo Lamprecht closed with a level-par 70 to finish in a share of 45th, while Garrick Higgo had a one-over-par 71 as he finished in a share of 59th.
